As we mentioned in previous articles during the last stage of the menstrual cycle normally a layer of endometriosis lining in the inside of the uterus is expelled, known as menstruation blood but instead some of the endometriosis tissues grow somewhere in the body causing endometriosis. Endometriosis also reacts to hormonal signals of the monthly menstrual cycle, building up tissue, breaking it, and eliminating it through menstrual period. In this article, we will discuss what exhibits hormonal imbalance to cause endometriosis.

I. Definition
Hormonal imbalance is defined as chemical messengers that regulate our body’s systems are no longer function properly. In case of endometriosis, hormonal imbalance is defined as over-production of certain hormones in the reproductive system causing endometrial cells to develop in the abdominal region other than the endometrial wall.

II. Hormone imbalance and endometriosis
1. Side effects of hormonal medications
Hormone medication may increase the risk of over-production of certain hormones. In case of endometriosis, the surge of estrogen during menstrual cycle may cause menstrual cramps and other symptoms of menstruation increasing the risk of endometriosis.

2. Xenoestrogens
Xenoestrogens are harmful man-made products that interfere with the production of natural estrogen in a woman's body. Too much xenoestrogen increases symptoms during the mense as well as increasing the risk of endometriosis.

3. Environmental toxins
Environmental toxins cause inflammation and stimulates the production of certain hormones in our body causing hormonal imbalance. Over-production of estrogen during a woman's menstrual cycle increases the risk of endometriosis.

4. Unhealthy diet
Over intake of saturated and trans fat causes an imbalance of omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids which increases the risk of over-production of estrogen that turns into bad estrogen, resulting in hormonal imbalance as well as increasing the risk of endometriosis.

Since endometriosis is treatable and manageable by natural remedies and self help course, if you have endometroisis, please look at the bright side.
